Invoking a common criticism of Donald Trump and conservatives in general, Joe Biden is telling his social media followers to “Google Project 2025.”

IN FACT, Google is not a reliable broker of policy facts and has been rigging its algorithms since 2014 under a rubric called “Your Money or Your Life.” In the words of Google, this affects any issue that “could potentially impact the future happiness, health, financial stability, or safety of users.”

In other words, it impacts the search engine rankings of virtually every major public policy issue.

For such searches, Google wrote, “We will give more weight in our ranking systems to factors like our understanding of the authoritativeness, expertise, or trustworthiness of the pages we present in response.”

For a prime example, Google/YouTube adopted a policy in May 2020 of censoring people who post content “that contradicts the World Health Organization (WHO) or local health authorities’ medical information about Covid-19.”

So if you Google “Project 2025” or any other basic search term and don’t look beyond the first 10 results (like most people), you’re blindly trusting your money and your life to corporate executives who may not be competent, honest, or decent.
